um... yes?

I actually played Zero Wing before I had even heard of Newgrounds. It was over at a friend's apartment in the mid 90's playing it on his NES... after a case of beer and 12 hours, I beat the game. The beer was better.

I was in a GTA online lobby, waiting to kill some folk, when a guy joined... his team abbreviation was BASE. So I made the 'all ur base r belong 2 us' reference. He didn't get it :\

good try though, gg.
if that was me i would've cried because that would've been so funny.
people just dont value the old games that make absolutely no sense do they.
:3

even though im young enough im interested in them.
i'm different than most people lol

I'm an old fart, had my fill of primitive games back when they were new lol, but yeah, can see how they might be innovative to ppl who haven't played them before. Zero Wing was at least beatable, and after the mutilated intro, I just had to see how the ending got butchered ;) Not the worst RPG I've played but damn close

lol.
to me, i think its one of the best. The art is cool for an 8-bit/16-bit game it's just the wacky language and gameplay crap lol
i prefer something like undertale.
because well you know.
100 percent fandom right here :3

I've seen a little in-game footage and read 2 reviews, does look good! Guess I'm still hung up on playing GTA Online... I paid for Fallout 4 with all the DLC trimmings, but I kinda fell out of love with it towards the end, where you absolutely have to know (from a walkthrough) how to end up with one faction or or the other. Lame story/game scripting, and lame trees really had an impact on me |:

And to think, I've found fresh walkthroughs for the original Fallout, almost 10 years after it came out!

I may seem like a cool gamer kid but I have like no games.
The devices I use:
Phone
Tablet
Xbox 360
PSP (one of the ones that plays a ton of old games?)
Wii U
Two other tablets

And devices like that you cant get the best.
I mean, I can get GTA V if I wanted to but I need to be able to 'afford' it.
I'm interested in good games with top notch qualities like GTA V and Fallout 4,
but I have a great side of love for games like Undertale and art in 8-bit or 16-bit. It's really the story that counts, not the way it looks in my perspective. Unless it's like, absolutely ugly to it's core, then no, not just the story counts. I mean, a video game has to have some sort of art or imagery to even know what the story is, lol
*note: i edited this because i forgot to add computer on my list. I mean why wouldn't i have one, how would I be typing this besides mobile? lol

I think you'd get a kick of Lunar: Silver Star and it's sequel, which were for the Sega CD, pretty sure they ported it over to something on your list. Excellent music scores, decent plot and characters.. and if you can't find it cheap, you can basically watch it here: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/597068

Lots of good RPG's here to play: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/508777

I'll be sure to check them out :)
thanks

Aside from the crappy ads, free games can be good! Sometimes if you need help, a reviewer will leave some hints, and the more popular games have let's plays on YT.

How long did it take to beat Underworld? I've also got a few music faves listed somewhere in my profile, just in case the in-game tunes aren't to your liking. Dunno why, but I've got a soft spot for this lady's tunes http://dreamforecast.newgrounds.com/audio/

game music is also fab.

i suggest you listen to the undertale soundtrack,
absolute 10/10.
and if you've never heard undertale songs,
just pretend you're crying at the song Memories in the soundtrack around other undertale fans because that's the crap we all cry to. :)

Ah, I'm all dried up (tear-wise) but sometimes a tune will catch me the right way, kinda like the stuff from the lady I linked below. Simple truthful music always gets me.

ah. i see.

the kind of music that makes me cry is the music that comes up by the credits when a truly REMARKABLE game ends. even if it is just piano, or guitar, it can be really sad.
one of the songs (like i mentioned) called memories has two versions. Piano (some other instruments) or guitar, and some other instruments. But they make me cry only because it sounds amazing and that it reminds me of the end. the emotional embrace at the end just leaves you hanging with "WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. 2ND GAME PLZ" all over it.

and its sad because i think the song only shows up in one scene, which is the rain on the knight scene..
you give it an umbrella because the poor knight suit is being rained on. the song plays.
"Hmm hmmm hmm hm hm hmhm hmmm" is what i can describe it sounding like.
It reminds me of the pacifist route.
you spare absolutely everything you encounter including side monsters.
but in genocide, it doesnt play...
in genocide route you're an evil murderer who kills absolutely EVERYTHING. sparing nothing. 0.
ever save point says how many things left to kill. every boss encounter icon isnt a star/talking icon, it's an evil smile. Every save point isn't a star. It's a disturbing, creepy smile.
and then, you play the pacifist route first, amirite? and then you know, you get the BEST ending. you move on to genocide just to get it over with, and killing ANYTHING (not the side monsters like random encountery, sorry guys) like the main characters brings a tear to an eye, and reminds me of the song.

I mean, in the pacifist you literally know everything about them.
you affect what happens.
it's
so
sad.
if you played this game a lot and/or watched people play it you'd know exactly how i'd feel right now.
it's so sad.
here's a link to Memories.
"Hmm hm hm hm hmm hm hm hmmm"

"His Theme" - Kind of similar to Memories.

heh...
hmm hm hm hm hm hm hm hmmm, hm hm hm hm hmmm, hmm hm hm hm hm hm hm hmmm, hm hm hm hm hmmm.

-cries inside-

this is so sad

Replay value aside, it sounds like a straight proposition: good or aggressive. If I ever play that game, I'll have to play the aggressive side first, just to get it out of the way... some folks think you can tell more about a person, by threatening their lives, maybe that would come in handy on a second playthrough, sad to say.

Although the game is MUCH easier killing everything, you kill everything with one hit as you level up and get rich.

you get better weapons.

When you're in a spare everything ending,
heh,
you get no xp.
just gold.
very little gold, that is.
you have to dodge every attack, never ATTACK NUTHIN'
it's really hard in pacifist.
well, so is genocide.
Genocide includes a boss fight that is technically "EASY" because the guy has 1 hp and does 1 damage.
You have to react fast and dodge his attacks. Which deal 1 damage over time.
He has a lot of obstacles in his attacks.
He dodges your attacks.
He's the "HARDEST" also in a lot of peoples opinions.
People have given up on fighting this dude.
But, people have beaten him.
after 7 hours of constantly retrying, that is
heh.

I think its 10 bucks on steam.

That's a good price for such a talked about game. I gave up on game development before 1990, but still have a yearning for at least writing a kick ass game. Your folks ever play videogames?

i'm in the most weirdest family.
me and my brother play video games
but he's like, 10 years older than i am

he's the only one that plays video games with me besides my sister
which she is like 7 years older than me

my mother and father dont play video games

my oldest sister loves undertale

my oldest brother/halfbrother loves games like kingdom hearts, final fantasy, and chrono trigger (like i do)

he also likes legend of zelda ( i do also )

Doesn't sound strange in the slightest, in fact, sounds like you're all decently close to one another... that's good!

heh, yeah

until you realize that i'm literally the youngest.

you see, i'm not that old.

Half Brother: 30
Brother: 22?
Oldest Sister: 24
Youngest Sister: 19.

and look at how old i am.

yaaayy

my oldest sister is the only one that moved out.
my brother tried to but, he doesn't have good money like that
my half-brother lives somewhere else, he never stayed with us but he visits.
my youngest sister still lives here but she's not home all the time.
my oldest sister is living with her boyfriend, which is literally on the next street.

Yeah I'm the baby of my family too... even though I'm 43. I have a sister who's 20 years older than I am, and a brother, who was roughly 19 years older. Soo that kinda makes me the 'surprise' child.

Hope you have a fun time with all the site related content today... I should be there right now, but 2 days ago my truck died, and I've got no way to get there. In fact, the only food I have left in the house, was from this time last week, when we had our brother's funeral/memorial party here on the east coast.

oh geez

good luck out there lol

must be tough being grown.
i sometimes understand.
not really.
kinda.
idk.

Haha, yeah adult life is terrible and wonderful, have to worry about insurance, credit ratings, stupid stuff like that. But if you have family and friends, it sure helps a lot, otherwise, it's quite the wilderness out there.

to be honest, even though im a complete gamer,
i'd actually prefer to have no problems. Like the hunger games.
yunno,
it's just like
no technology.
just wilderness.
you gotta learn how to survive.
it's not as "sit down and get fat" kinda deal. lol.
i think its called a sate of nature, i think. maybe.
